Headband and Veil for West Lothian Bride
One of our favourite speciality services at Mairi Brunning Millinery is our hand beading, which allows our customers to select their choice of high quality pearls, Swarovski crystals, beads and sequins. Mairi then intricately beads these on to each individual customer’s choice of lace or fabric; whichever combination best complements the customer’s outfit.
Bearing this in mind, we were absolutely delighted when Teri approached us with her design idea, which would require Mairi to hand bead a selection of pearls, Swarovski crystals, sequins, cup chains and beads onto a leaf shaped sections of lace, which when attached to ribbon could be woven through her hair.
Our first port of call was to meet with Teri to decide which items we would incorporate, but to also try on tulle veils to wear with her headpiece. Teri opted for some very fine quality tulle, which was sourced from our favourite couture fabric supplier. Her beautifully delicate and soft, single tier, waist length veil was then finished off with a haircomb that we created using Teri’s Granny’s antique brooch (so it could be her something old!) and cream Swarovski crystals.
Her couture veil was complemented by her couture headpiece, which not only featured Swarovski pearls, Swarovski crystals, Aurora Borealis sequins and Miyuki silver lined bugle beads, but also dangling crystals cup chains in three lengths, which gave a slight nod to a 1920s look.
Teri’s bespoke bridal headband and tulle veil were an absolute joy to create! Congratulations to Teri and Graeme who were married in May at Auchrannie Resort on the Isle of Arran, Scotland.
